One Thing Nobody Tells You: WAV Won’t Restore Quality

Converting an MP3 to WAV does not bring back the audio detail the MP3 encoder discarded. The MP3 is already compressed; the WAV you get is a decode of the approximate waveform stored in that compressed file, not a recovery of the original lossless source. If the MP3 sounds thin, the WAV will sound identical — just bigger.

Worse, exporting at a higher sample rate or bit depth than the source doesn’t add fidelity. It grows the file without improving real quality.
